VIA FERRATA CREPA NEIGRA

Under construction

This summer, we’re building a new via ferrata on the distinctive Crepa Neigra, a truly geologically interesting mountain. It’s a mountain of volcanic origin that stands out from all the other Dolomite peaks for its color, which is significantly darker than the dolomite rock.

The new via ferrata, currently being developed by the specialized company Orbari Srl, will further expand Ciampac’s summer offer and allow even beginners to reach the summit of this unique mountain, enjoying a 360-degree view of the Sella massif, the Vernel and the tip of the Marmolada’s south face, the Sassolungo Group and the Catinaccio Rosengarten.

Once the route is completed, starting from the Ciampac basin, it will be possible to walk uphill towards Pian de Sele (2,346 meters) and reach the start of the via ferrata in about 40 minutes. Alternatively, those wishing to avoid the uphill section can take the chairlift to Sella Brunech (2,428 meters) and follow the panoramic ridges towards Crepa Neigra.

The via ferrata will be approximately 700-800 meters long, mostly horizontal, except for the first vertical section, where there will be ladders, and the final section. After the horizontal traverse, you’ll ascend to the summit of Crepa Neigra (2,535 meters), where an unexpected expanse of grass offers a breathtaking view of the entire Val di Fassa.

Updates will follow shortly.
