For those who want to walk along the renowned Val Contrin without too much effort, here is an itinerary on the ridge which allows you to start hiking already at high altitude and descend the valley until Alba di Canazei. Once at the top of Sella Brunech (2428 metres) set out along the Lino Pederiva equipped path. Walking on the panoramic ridges and following ups and downs you will reach San Nicolò Pass (2339 metres) and later on Rifugio Contrin and Malga Contrin (2027 metres), excellent refreshment points. To go back to Alba di Canazei, descend along the wild Val Contrin.
Until San Nicolò Pass the path is equipped with ropes and has some exposed points.
