Ciampac: EMOTIONS AT HIGH ALTITUDE

Located above 2100 meters of altitude, the Ciampac ski area offers you a spectacular view of the Dolomites, from the Sella Group with the majestic Piz Boè to the legendary south face of the Marmolada. It can be reached in about ten minutes from Alba di Canazei by a high-performance cable car, which already gives you a pleasant preview of the panorama that can be admired once at the top.

This ski area ensures pure fun for everyone thanks to the wide range of slopes of varying difficulty. In addition to the blue slope and the ski school camp, perfect for families and beginners, at Ciampac you’ll also find five red slopes and two black runs: the black Sella Brunech variant and the renowned Ciampac black slope. With a length of about 3 km, the Ciampac black slope descends to the village of Alba, has an average gradient of 32% and a maximum that reaches 56%. What to say, a track that you have to try at least once in your life! And for all those who want to test themselves, now at Ciampac there is also a free-access timed track along one of the two slopes of the Sasso di Rocca ski lift. What are you waiting for to challenge friends and relatives and experience the emotions of the greatest champions?!

The Ciampac ski area is also one of the six areas included in the Skitour Panorama, the Val di Fassa tour par excellence. This tour offers an incredible variety of breathtaking landscapes and 70 km of slopes, including five black slopes for those who want to put their technical skills to the test. Furthermore, Ciampac is an important connection area that allows all those who want to do the famous Sellaronda to leave directly from Pozza or Vigo and reach the Belvedere ski area skiing down the black slope Ciampac-Alba (or taking the Ciampac cable car) and then taking the Alba-Col dei Rossi cable car.

Ciampac has everything you need in order to spend a wonderful day in the snow with your family. For the little ones, just 5 minutes from the mountain station of the cable car, there is the high-altitude playground Ciampark, with a small free-access slope for snow tubes and sleds. The playground is situated next to the ski school camp, which is equipped with a ski lift and a moving sidewalk and is the perfect place to learn to ski. There you’ll also find the Canazei Marmolada Ski School office, with instructors ready to teach young and old this beautiful sport. The ski school camp moving sidewalk can also be used independently free of charge, if you want to learn to ski on your own or bring your children to take their first steps on skis. To recharge your batteries, four easily accessible restaurants, where you can taste the delicacies of the Ladin and Trentino cuisine and relax on the terrace in the sun.

In addition to skiing, at Ciampac it is also possible to go snowshoeing. In fact, the winter of 2023-2024 brings with it great news: a circular route for snowshoes of around 5 kilometres, immersed in a fairytale landscape with wooden bridges and spectacular views of the Sella Group and Piz Boé. The weekly activity on Wednesdays with the Alpine Guides will also be organized, for all those who prefer snowshoeing in this magical place accompanied by a guide. And for all ski enthusiasts who are curious to discover the secrets of the snowmaking sector and snowcats, the appointment is every Thursday at Ciampac with the “Behind the scenes of skiing” activity, which also includes a tasty aperitif in a mountain refuge to end the day in style.

All the comfort at your fingertips: at the lift station in Alba di Canazei there is the ski pass office, where you can buy 1-day or multi-day ski passes but also return tickets for single lifts. Next to the ski pass office, you’ll also find the pick-up box to pick up the tickets purchased online via voucher and the self-checkout to buy Dolomiti Superski and Val di Fassa ski passes. Not to mention the Ski Paolo ski rental and depot, which allows skiers to rent their equipment directly at the lift station and leave it in one of the large heated lockers of the depot, ready for the next day.  Near the rental, there is also another office of the Canazei Marmolada Ski School, where you can book ski or snowboard lessons and ask for information on group courses.
